It really isn’t that scary

Telling people I was moving to Korea went one of two ways. Either people would be so scared, advising me not to go or they were incredibly excited for me, to enjoy a remarkable and eye-opening experience. To be very clear at the beginning of my stay, it was extremely difficult. However, that was due to issues with my school. After some time you can really understand how beautiful this country truly is.

When (because I think everyone should at some point in their life) you go to an Asian country, have an entirely open mind. There is nothing here that I can relate to as a westerner and trying to find comfort in things, only makes it harder and the poorer your experience will be. Don't let this deter you from traveling to Asia. It absolutely is a spectacular continent. Just know that the more open your mind is, much like all the places you travel, the better your time will be.

I really am in love with this place! As a noncity person, it is outstanding. My favorite times are in the morning when you can wander the empty streets. At night it is lovely, a city that really comes alive at dusk. But there is just something about the mornings that inspire me. The only people in the streets are the elderly and when they see me the normal reaction is surprise shortly followed by a big smile.
