Apps and websites for Korea

01 Transportation

02 chatting app

03 Websites

Always do your research before going to a new country. Even if you are planning on doing a capricious trip you should know the basics about the area you are exploring. Along with that is check out the different applications or web browsers they use. Some countries don’t support the apps you are used to using. For example, in Korea Google maps is pretty much useless. You are able to search a destination but if you try to get directions nothing happens. These are what you should use instead.

01 MAPS

KakaoMap and NaverMap are very similar and really just come down to presence. I prefer Never Maps because places are written in both languages.

KakaoMetro - really helpful if you don’t have phone service or if you have a hard time understanding the metro line.

02 KAKAOTALK

KakaoTalk - Much like Whatsapp in Europe, Kakaotalk is almost the only thing used in Korea for chatting. It’s a lot ‘cuter’ than any other chatting app you will ever use.

03 WEBSITES

Imagine your Korea - One of my favorite websites because it has EVERYTHING. You can look for restaurants, learn about the culture, find events, and a lot more.

Naver - The Korean search engine used for everything.
