Sugar Bowl Ski Resort, USA
01 Where to eat 02 Where to park 03 Fun fact
A ski Resort in Northern California along the Donner Pass of the Sierra Nevada. The resort is set up for intermediate skiers with just 17% of the runs being for beginners. With decent backcountry and amazing views from the top of the mountains. It is overpriced for the amount of run but is perfect for families. Also convenient because it’s the closest resort to SF and sac.
01 WHERE TO EAT
Depending on what you want. Most of the meals are the same quality just location is different.
There are two lodges
Judah - cafeteria food but they have a huge deck to eat on. It is perfect on a sunny day.
Village - there is a cafeteria with a small deck or an outside snack vendor. But there is also a bar that sells pretty good food. We normally get the garlic fries.
02 WHERE TO PARK
I personally like to park and take the gondola across to village lodge because the other lodge has more ski schools and can be hard to get around to the intermediate runs. It is also easier to rent skis as there aren’t as many people. The drawbacks are, lines at the end of the day to get the gondola and not as much parking as the other lots.
Another thing to be aware of is that once the slopes close the roads will be packed to get back onto the highway. We normally have a drink at the bar to wait out the traffic.
03 FUN FACT
Sugar Bowl was the ski resort in California to get a chairlift and gondola.
