3 Obscure Cities You Must See

The not so talked about cities that are actually wickedly beautiful! Finding these types of places is what adventure is all about.

Chamonix, France

After driving through the Mont Blanc tunnel I wasn’t expecting very much of the small town we were about to go to. But wow was I wrong. The sight of this small town nestled between the Alps was something from a fairy tale. It is cute and cozy and just a little bit mind-blowing how gorges a town could be. At the top of Mont Blanc, you can gaze down into Chamonix or from the other side, watch skiers brave the icy cliffs into Italy.

An outdoor mecha that has some of the best food I have ever had in my life! This unique city holds many things to do (mainly outdoors). But the indoor things it does have to do are remarkable. We took the gondola to the top of Mont Blanc where there are restaurants and look out platforms.
Inside the town, you can walk everywhere within 15 minutes and every path is beautiful. On the weekend (during warmer seasons) there is a small market with local foods. It made me cry. Mainly because they were unbelievably good and a little due to the price.

Bonifacio, France (Corsica)

How I suggest you come to this city: by boat! We sailed into this little town and from far out all you could see where waves crashing against the Island. Once we got a little closer, it was easier to make out that on top of the cliffs was a city sprawled across the rocks. The crazier part was we were about to sail into that cove. There is a split in-between the cliffs that opened up into a small bay of sorts. Honestly, I have never seen anything like this place. When we were maneuvering through there were people diving off these rocks that towered over our sailboat.

The city is unbelievable! It starts at the top of the cliff and cascades down into the small harbor. The waters are crystal clear, and the rock walls are remarkable after being carved by the saltwater. My suggestion is to walk every little side street you can because it is all different. Because it is built on the side of a cliff, it is pretty hard to get the perfect cookie cutter building look. This makes it so interesting to explore the city. It is phenomenally expensive as you can so bring your own lunch.

Ljubljana, Slovenia

Even after visiting the Ljubljana I cannot pronounce the name of this place. The capital and the largest city in Slovenia, Ljubljana wickedly interesting. The heart of the city is divided by two rivers that run around a hill. You can hike to the top of it to see a panoramic view from inside the castle. Or walk within all the little side streets that follow the rivers. Surrounded by snow-covered alps it is a very idyllic place.

If you are looking for underground places to go, this is the city for you. In fact, it is not a city to do in one or two days because you won't see much of the hidden city, although the city, in general, is really cute. Coming alive at night with people drinking in the streets and along the riverside. I would not recommend the buckwheat (anything) even though it is a famous dish in Slovenia. There are so many more exciting and flavorful plates to try from that it really isn’t worth your time unless you are a buckwheat fan. Food is pretty cheap and the beer is lovely.

Maybe I just have something for cities with mountains. These cities are out of this world (I know the pictures don’t prove very much).
