A very friendly place to travel to. I didn’t find one ugly place in Porto. There was always some sort of decoration on the buildings such as spray painted murals or stunning architecture. Walking through the city felt more like a treasure hunt than anything. The streets all had their own character and down the small alleyways, there were little works of art. The streets were spotless, and the small parks were so well kept.

01 THINGS TO DO

Sandeman Porto - Which is very touristy, but we had such a great experience. If you do not want to do a tour but just want to do some tasting they are very accommodating. We went in the morning so there were not very many people.

Food Tour - Well worth tour. The guide takes a small group of people around the city explaining some of the history of Porto while food tasting hopping. Walking in-between tastings was great because some of the food was heavy. With every meal, you get a paired wine and at the end, you go to a small port tasting where they explain the process to you.

02 NIGHT LIFE

Passos Manuel streets are where everyone gathers at night to party or hangout until early in the morning. The heart of Porto's nightlife. In the ‘early evening’ before 1 am there are a lot of creepy older men in the streets who watch all the young girls go by. In fact, it almost made us go home, but I am glad we didn’t. There are a lot of pub crawls you can go on but the locals are that big so its not always the best option.

The Gin House - It is pretty expensive and doesn’t have that many different types of Gin. It is more about the fruits and things they put into the drink.

The Wall - A great place to go dancing. Crowed but not as much as some of the other bars.

03 WHERE TO EAT

Fish Fixe - Unbelievable food and some of the best service ever. You can take bottles of wine home if you are not able to finish them but the waiters told us that it is very bad luck to do so, they were laughing the whole time (not exactly believable). They were so much fun, I highly recommend this restaurant. It is also right on the water line, very beautiful.

Flor dos Congregados - Make a reservation because it is always packed. A small menu and they make everything fresh.

04 WHERE TO STAY

Nice Way Porto Hostel - Very friendly and close to everything.

05 HOW TO GET THERE

Plane - There is a bus from the airport to the center that cost about 3 euros and takes about 30 minutes. It runs every 20 minutes.
Flixbus - A lot of buses run through here.
