Korčula, Croatia

The perfect place to chill. We arrived from Dubrovnik by bus followed by a fairy to get onto the island. Traveling here is very simple and really relaxed. During our bus ride, we stopped to pick up people in random locations along the road, in the middle of nowhere. A normal thing for Croatians.

Once we got to the bus station in the town, we were picked up by the owner of the Airbnb we were about to stay at. She walked us to our lovely room that was right on the water in the small port. It is a tiny town, but it was very cozy. At the top of the little hill overlooking the port, there are restaurants and shops. The shops had beautiful unique things in them but were very pricey. Everyone was so friendly and spoke English really well!

During the day we would sunbathe and swim with the retired folk from the city, on the docks. Even though it is a port, the water is crystal clear and to peers make for a perfect jumping spot. The seafood was amazing and the people were so much fun! At night everyone goes for a walk around the waterline and up into the small city center. It is a little more costly than the mainland, but it is worth it if you want a peaceful getaway.

Where were stayed:

Cute Airbnb that over looked the port and had the nicest land lady.

Where to eat:

Popina a sweet little place. The menu is a little different from the other restaurants in the area. If you are a sports fan you will get a long swimmingly with the staff. (they don’t have a website so you will have to check it out for yourself)
