“Back in Nam”

There seems to be a bad connotation towards this beautiful country. When people found out I was going solo to Vietnam, they seemed genuinely scared for me. But I would recommend this place to any and all solo travelers. At first, it seemed that others were worried for a good reason. People on the streets were staring at me with a death glare. However, once I started saying ‘hi’ they would light up with the brightest crooked smiles. People started pulling me in from the streets to touch my hair and kids were running out of nowhere to say HELLO! Locals adopted me and fed me until the point of explosion. And if that wasn’t cool enough the prices were so low I could live like a queen without the fear of breaking the bank.

Some travelers I met during my trip explained they had been to Vietnam about 15 years prior and that it is changing so rapidly. They hardly recognize the country anymore, it is only getting more and more suited towards tourists.
